Classroom volunteers offer direct support to our teachers and help our children form strong bonds of trust with their peers, their teachers, and the learning environments around them. We ask that you plan to volunteer with the same class for no less than six months.
We need help with creating welcome boxes for children entering foster care, creating Baby Bags for infants entering care and Flash Boxes that offer a surprise dose of encouragement to foster families. Volunteers may alo help with service projects at DHS offices, help with DHS staff appreciation. Both one-time and ongoing opportunities.
We need women of wisdom and experience to help us build a model of new community support that benefits ALL. Women, 50 and over, are in an ideal position to act as mentors. When you become a Grandmas2Go volunteer and share the wisdom of your life experience you can make a lasting difference in the lives of new parents and the children they are raising.
This FREE program always needs help with childcare during our parenting classes, special family events, foster parents’ night out and to just give p arents/kids a well-deserved break. We can never have too many people to love our littles, keeping ratios small and engagement high!
Our Farm Program volunteers keep our farm in working order. Our farm manager will put you to work planting, weeding, and tending to our produce. We also have maintenance and construction projects available. If you like to be outdoors and work with your hands, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!
We’re always looking for help with filing, scanning and other office tasks! If this is something you’re interested in, we can call you in to help our team on an as-needed basis. If you have a specialized skill that you’d like to share, tell us about it!
Contact us with your genius social media marketing strategy. If we like it, we’ll put you in charge of it. The outreach committee may be a great option as well!
Board members meet monthly to advise FNC leaders and govern Family Nurturing Center. They oversee policy, set direction, and promote the organization to support our mission and help us meet our needs. We encourage you to try participating on a committee prior to participating on the board.
Whether we’re organizing an annual fundraiser, preparing for a monthly open house or simply hosting a family fun event for our client, we always need extra help. If you like planning and scheduling, as well as set up and clean up at these events, we would welcome your help!
Host a house party or birthday party to introduce your friends, family, and colleagues to the wonderful work we do here at FNC. By encouraging financial support, you allow us to broaden and deepen our impact. We’re happy to help plan, cook, clean and present information in a way that is meaningful to you and your guests!
We need people! If you’re a guru when it comes to facilities, finance, safety or programming, consider joining a committee. Most meet for one hour monthly or as needed. If you’re interested in participating on a committee, please email lisa@rvfnc.org.
