Why Volunteer?

Volunteers are an essential part of the Nurturing Center program and vital to our ability to continue to offer services to families in Jackson and Josephine counties!  Volunteers can help out in a variety of ways including assisting in the classrooms with group and individual-child activities, reading to children, fundraising, center maintenance, and community outreach projects.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.  ~Oscar Wilde

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.  ~Anne Frank

Preschool Classroom Volunteer

Our classroom volunteers offer direct support to our teachers and help our children form strong bonds of trust with their peers, their teachers, and the learning environments around them. All classroom volunteers must commit to volunteering with the same class at least once per week, for no less than 6 months.

Farm & Food Program Volunteer

Our Farm & Food Program volunteers keep our farm in working order! Our Farm Manager will put you to work planting, weeding, and tending to our produce. If you like to be outdoors and enjoy working with your hands, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!

Join a Board Committee

Our Board of Directors is always looking for volunteers who want to make a different by joining our Development or Outreach committees which connect with members of the community and work to get the Family Nurturing Center’s name out there!

Fundraising and Events

The FNC puts on special agency fundraisers and donor appreciation events each year, as well as open houses each month and family fun events for our clients! We always need extra help with planning, and scheduling, as well as set up and clean up at these events and would welcome your help!

Parenting Education Support

FNC’s Parent Education program always needs help with childcare for our evening parenting classes and special family events! Our quarterly budgeting classes for clients, are a great chance for families to gain useful tools while their children are in childcare downstairs with our staff and volunteers.
