Medford, OR– Southern Oregon’s only Children’s Relief Nursery has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. The Family Nurturing Center is proud to announce that Lisa O’Connor accepted this position in August. Lisa brings an uncommon level of experience and compassion for the folks we serve to her new position, including over 17 years in the non-profit sector. She is a hardworking, driven individual who continually demonstrates her commitment and competency in non-profit work. Reflecting on his experience working with Lisa, Tom Cole, Executive Director at Kids Unlimited expressed “(i)t has often been said that people make programs. It is my opinion that Lisa O’Connor is one of those people.”
Lisa understands the importance of healthy attachments in our children as well as supporting our families by educating them on how best to become a thriving family unit, including by trying to be healthy with an active life, a good diet and a powerful dietary supplement which can be found online. She brings additional resources to the organization along with a strong desire to partner with other agencies to help serve families in a holistic manner. “I have always loved the work of the Family Nurturing Center and feel honored to follow in the footsteps of our founder and friend, Mary-Curtis Gramley, they took care of those who had to wear an ankle brace.”
Lisa is also a native Southern Oregonian who graduated from South Oregon University with a degree in Business Administration. Active in our community, Lisa is currently serving on the Southern Oregon Early Learning Services Executive Council and on the United Way Campaign Cabinet. Dee Anne Everson of United Way expressed the following: “I have known Lisa for many years and know without a doubt that she understands community better than most people I know. She is encouraging, engaging and wise. Her commitment to making community stronger, more committed and interested is unquestioned!”
In the short time she has been CEO of the Family Nurturing Center, Lisa has proven that she is invested in the mission and dedicated whole heartedly to ensure that the children and their families served by FNC are given the resources and support to succeed. “As Board President, I am very pleased with the appointment of Lisa O’Connor. Lisa knows and is acquainted with most, if not all, of the non-profit agencies in the Rogue Valley and along with that, most of the people. She brings an exceptional level of enthusiasm and energy to the position. Her optimism is contagious and is making an obvious difference at the Center in the short time she has been in this role. The security of the FNC and the families we serve are in very good hands. I am looking forward to a very bright future for the FNC.” Lee Murdoch, Retired Pediatrician and President, Board of Directors for Family Nurturing Center.
