A Statement from the Family Nurturing Center

The Family Nurturing Center stands with all who are working for justice in our world. For far too long, racism and systemic inequity have damaged or ended lives and stained the American dream of freedom and justice for all.

Our mission is to strengthen families so that children can live safely and develop fully in their parents’ care.

Families can only be strong and children can only flourish to the degree that they are safe, respected, valued and supported. Parenting is hard! Every parent knows moments of quiet desperation while raising their child. Imagine how much harder it is with the knee of racism on your neck.

As a predominantly white organization, we commit:
• to be anti-racist
• to listen respectfully, confront our own biases and learn from others
• to increase diversity in our workplace and in the people we serve
• to support legislation that furthers justice

The Family Nurturing Center was created as a place of healing and growth. Ending racism is central to healing our community, our nation and our world.
